Anodyne® and Solaris® Therapies
Infrared Pain Relief Therapies
Anodyne® Therapy and Solaris® Therapy are infrared light therapies that are chosen by Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice to restore independence and alleviate pain of patients who struggle with poor circulation in their extremities.
What are Anodyne® and Solaris® Therapies?
Both Anodyne® and Solaris® Therapies are non-invasive, non-medicinal treatments that use infrared light to treat nerve damage by increasing blood flow within a patient’s arms, legs and feet. Treatment is administered in the patient’s home by a Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice care professional, who places small pads directly on the patient’s skin wherever nerve malfunction exists.
How Do Anodyne® and Solaris® Therapies Work?
The pads use infrared light to stimulate damaged nerves and increase blood flow to the affected area, releasing nitric oxide—one of the body’s natural pain killer—with more ease. A patient rests comfortably in a chair for the 30- to 45-minute duration of these treatments.
Light stretching, simple balancing exercises, massage and other therapeutic methods of pain relief can sometimes be required after the pads are removed to augment an Anodyne® or Solaris® Therapy session.
A complete Anodyne® or Solaris® Therapy system involves 10 to 18 sessions of treatment—usually long enough for patients to see and feel positive results for up to six months. More sessions may be necessary for patients to feel relief, based on the degree of the nerve damage/impairment.
We invite you to contact us and schedule an in-home evaluation to assess your needs and determine whether Anodyne® or Solaris® Therapy is appropriate for you.
