Great Lakes Hospice is a Medicare-certified and state licensed agency that provides the highest quality end-of-life care in the homes of the terminally ill. What is Hospice?

Hospice is both a type of and philosophy of care that concentrates on treating terminally ill patients—not to stop the progression of their disease, but to lessen the severity of its progression—so that they may live the rest of their lives with dignity.

Palliative care is characterized as any form of medical health care or treatment that focuses on reducing the severity of chronic disease symptoms. It is different from standard care, which strives to halt, delay or reverse progression of the disease itself.
